Payment – how to pay fines and other penalties
When paying a fine or other penalty, always use the reference number found on the bank transfer or fine form. If you do not include the reference number or it is wrong, the payment will not be allocated correctly.
You can pay the fine or other penalty to the Legal Register Centre's (LRC) account. If you do not have a bank account, you can pay the fine or penalty to the Enforcement Authority.
You will need the reference number to make the payment. If you do not use the reference number given or it is wrong, the payment will not be allocated correctly. Be careful!
You can check the payment details from the bank transfer or fine form issued to you by the authority that imposed the fine or other penalty. If you have been sent a reminder for payment by the LRC, you can find the payment details in the reminder as well.
Payment details lost?
You can also check the reference number from the LRC's electronic service . Or you can pay your penalty conveniently with the virtual bar code in the electronic service.

If you notice that you have made a payment with incomplete or incorrect information, contact our customer service to clear the matter up.
Can I pay a fine or traffic penalty fee in instalments?
You can pay a traffic penalty fee or fine in instalments before the due date, using the payment details provided.
If you have not paid the penalty by the time it is transferred to the LRC for collection, we will send you a reminder for payment. Depending on the matter, the information can take anything from a few days to a few months to be conveyed to our debt-collection system and electronic service.
If you fail to make the payment by the due date, the matter will be transferred to Enforcement Authority. The matter will then be managed by the enforcement authorities, and you will no longer be able to apply for payment time from the LRC. So be prompt!
What happens if I pay the summary penal order or part of it?
If you have received a summary penal order , payment within 30 days is deemed to constitute consent for processing the matter under the Act on the Imposition of a Fine or Fixed Petty Fine.
Partial payment of the fine or fixed petty fine is also considered to constitute consent.
If consent has been given retrospectively, the penalty will be confirmed with a fine order , fixed petty fine order or penal order .
